Membership in NARFE is an investment.

“NARFE is the only organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing retirement benefits of current and retired federal employees.”

Who Can Join?

Membership is open to civilians who are, or will be, eligible to receive an annuity or survivor annuity from the federal retirement programs of any agency of the United States government or the District of Columbia, including: Active employees, retirees, former employees, spouses and surviving spouses of those eligible to join NARFE. A former spouse who is legally entitled to a federal survivor annuity.

How Much Does it Cost?

NARFE National-Only Membership is $48.00 per year. Optional Chapter Membership is additional and depends on the chapter:

Save with multiple year membership:

• Two-year membership is $92.00 + two years of chapter dues. This saves $4.00.
• Three-year membership is $126.00 + three years of chapter dues. This saves $18.00.

Dues Withholding:

Retirees can sign up for dues withholding. One twelfth of your dues will be withheld from your annuity each month. Your annual National dues will be $42.00, a savings of $6.00 per year. One twelfth of your chapter dues will also be included in the withholding so that you will never again receive renewal notices and reminders from NARFE.
